So, there was this thing.  I'm not sure if it was just a pilot for a failed TV show, a VERY short lived TV show, or a made-for-TV movie..   But the jist was there was a 50s Leave it to Beaver style family (the mother's look reminded me of Lucy), and they had a remote control that could either turn things color or black-and-white (all of reality around them, that is).  I can't remember which color was the "default", though..  I remember sometimes there mood would cause the color setting to change too, I think.

This ring a bell for anyone?  I probably saw it in the early 90s.

It reminds me of Pleasantville.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120789/   I don't remember the remote much though.  It has been along time since I saw Pleasantville.

I agree with Couchtr26, it must be Pleasantville.

It is not Pleasantville. Special effects were way crappier and this wasyears before it.  I am also quite sure about the remote thing causing the change.

Hmm, sorry.   I must admit the idea wouldn't be original.  I can't trace any other leads off the top of my head.

I don't THINK so, but after reading about that one, I'm going to track down a copy!  Karma for that.

It does sound like Hi, Honey I'm Home.  A 1950s sitcom family gets relocated to the the early 1990s and hilarity ensues.

:bouncegiggle:The IMDB photo is some kids cruddy drawing, also its clear now that The Brady Bunch movie stole the plot.
