This has been a tough year for me and work. I have over 25 years experience in Office Management and Assistance. But, no one hires office workers through the companies anymore. Everything is doled out to employment agencies, and none of the ten agencies I'm signed up with send me out for anything.

Well I finally found a job, it's for less then half of what I used to make. I have to drive almost an hour to get there. But, I'm not complaining, I'm happy to be working and bringing in some money.

Here's my title "Image Production Specialist" or "Document Preparation Specialist". Sounds pretty neat huh? You know what I do? I basically spend the entire day removing staples from paper. I work with people so young they look at post its and have no idea what they're used for. When some of these people come in to use the copy machine, one guy tells them you need a code to turn it on. When all you have to is look at the bright light that says "energy saver" and push it.

The economy stil sucks.  You are fortunate to be working, no matter what you make or how far you have to drive to get to work.  I remember having to go to temp agencies and work my butt off and save money with whatever wage and hours I could find.  It put me in a good position eventually, working for the government and being able to afford a house.  I believe that if you keep working hard no matter where you're at or what you do, good things will happen.  Might be 10 years down the road or so, but they will happen.
