Honeymoon Horror (1982)
Elaine and her lover Vic, owner of the Honeymoon Lodge on Lover's Island, is expecting guests. Three newlywed couples so everything must be ready before they arrive. Things start to get hectic though when the maid disappears, and when the murdered body of a guest is found suspicion is pointed towards the retarded caretaker. They do not know it yet but a dark secret from Elaine's past is actually mutilating the honeymooners. Who will survive this romantic weekend of bloody terror?
Solid low budget Slasher. The effects can get bloody but cheesy. The plot is very Friday The 13th plus you get a few sympathetic characters, and at least one likeable "anti-hero". Things that HONEYMOON HORROR taught me:
~ 2 x 30 minutes of lifting weights is enough to win a Mr. America contest.
~ One blow with an axe causes more blood-spill than hacking someone to pieces with 100 strokes.
~ The sensation of a person grabbing your feet can be put off as vines tangled around your ankles.
~ Bodybuilders scream like women.
~ Cops are fat and lazy.
~ Strong black coffee is good for soothing hyperactive stress-nerves.
