I'm making my first liqueur. It's a traditional European apertif commonly called "44." The ingredients are one 750ml bottle of clear grain alcohol such as vodka (I'm using Ciroc vodka), one orange, 44 coffee beans, and 44 sugar cubes.

You cut slits into the orange and fill the slits with the 44 coffee beans. Then you put the orange in a large jar along with the 44 sugar cubes. Then you pour the alcohol over the cubes and orange. Store in a cool dark place for 44 days, shaking the jar once each day at least until all the sugar is dissolved. It's supposed to be similar to Grand Marnier, but less syrupy and a little bit nicer because it's homemade. It's a popular homemade liqueur in Europe around the holidays, so I plan to break this out for Christmas Day. Only problem is I'm going to be 4 days short as I just started it last night. Oh well. I'm sure it will be close enough.

Anyone else here make any homemade adult beverages?

Does Sterno and coffee filters count?

Joking...
I tried raspberry vodka once. It worked really well. Also a friend once gave me homemade Kahlua.  Yours sounds really nifty.  Let me know how it goes

I will be sure to post something. I'm looking forward to it. It seems equally sophisticated and rustic. The experience is supposed to be that you get the coffee flavor hit you in the face upon the sip, but the orange really comes out in the finish. I don't know. We'll see.
