Just saw the preview after seeing an ad for it in a comic book. Looks really good, and I'm hoping it makes its way out to Phoenix.

Last year I watched the Finnish movie Rare Exports:

I'm also liking the look of this Norwegian Ninja:

Not too many movies about mythical Nordic creatures get to be seen today (or if they're out there I haven't seen em'.)

well, you have if you've seen Clash of the Titans. What is a creature from Norse mythology (the Kraken), doing in a movie set in Greek mythology?

I just watched this last night, and it enjoyed it fairly well.

It is very much a documentary-type movie, as most of it is the "film-makers" interviewing the troll hunter about his job. The film is then punctuated with scattered troll attacks, with many different troll types being represented.

I really enjoyed the film quite a lot, although it is for the most part pretty low-key. The finale is terrific.

I recommend it. 4 out of 5 stars.

I watched this with my daughter last night, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.  I'm not sure what you would call it - a bit of horror, quite a bit of fantasy/sci-fi, and a fairly overt political screed against government secrecy.  It is an interesting and compelling mix, and I must say the troll effects are first-rate!

I watched this recently and enjoyed it.  The film had a sense of humor that was sometimes very in your face, but other times it was so subtle that I wondering if they were making the joke or I was just interpreting it as a joke.  After consideration, I think that it was intentional.

The opening got a bit long in the tooth.  Once the amateur filmmakers hooked up with the troll hunter, it was very enjoyable (it's not long before they do, but the film isn't very interesting until then).  The glimpses into troll ecology were fun.  Never knew that they liked to chew on tires so much.  I did know they they liked goats and sheep.

A warning to someone about the see it for the first time:  the voice talent for the English dub can barely be called voice talent.  Bad dubbing.  Bad.

Where did you see it?  The Amazon DVD listing says it's subtitled.  Is there an option to watch it either dubbed or subtitled?

That's OK guys...sometime Uncle Umaril will have to tell you about the version of Godzilla: Final Wars that my friend got. It was in Mandarin with English subs.

The attempt to translate Japanese into Mandarin was a REAL trip. The end, middle and beginning of the sentences were all jumbled beyond belief and the subs came up as very vague and almost non-existent dud to the sentence structuring I just mentioned.

Of course, this is what happens when you buy it off of a Chinese street vendor in New York. Glad it was my friend's money and not mine...

The DVD has both dubbed and subtitled options.
