Finally, someone that agrees with me. I think she's actually quite pretty and talented.*

I don't really regret anything I listen to, really, but sadly, I have a soft spot for Linkin Park's "Crawling". My friends actually like these guys too (so it's not a total embarassment)- we're pretty much all old school metalheads and nu-metal is pretty offensive to us, basically it's the new equivalent to hair metal.

This is weird, because I always hated those freaking dance tunes at the time, being into classic rock, metal and country. Recently, however, I've heard a couple of those tunes and noticed that they fill me with a feeling of nostalgia like nothing else can. I suppose it's because I only ever heard those tunes in nightclubs when I was 18 or 19. Those were some of the best times, even if we did hate the music. And since I didn't listen to those tunes at home or in the car, and never felt a desire to listen to them in the past 20 years (during which they've gone largely unplayed), there are no other memories of that music to dilute its association with the good times of heading to "The Twist" with three or four buddies to drink beer, down shooters, smoke cigars (I did, while the others stuck to cigarettes) and ogle women amid thousands of square feet of neon-lit, glass-block-accented, zebra-striped, black-lighted, pastel-coloured, confetti-upholstered splendour of 1989.

I don't know if it's embarrassing or just distrurbing that I've reached the point of being nostalgic for the crappy "new" music we used to gripe about every Friday night. Good God, I feel old.

Okay, I like a bunch of those Disney Princess songs.  Damn you Disney and hiring people to make songs that should be for girls but still make me like them!

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

I'm actually with you on this.  During the 90s I was heavy into metal and all things related.  Whenever I'd hear any of the hip hop music of the era I'd snub my nose at it. However nowadays I listen to a lot of it because it takes me back.
