Been trying to figure this one out for the last decade or so. I can't remember if it was from the 80's (most likely) or the 90's. Additionally, I can't remember if it was a movie or some part of an anthology or TV episode (I originally saw it on TV).

From what I remember, some people (might have just been a couple) are driving down the road and take some sort of detour. They drive up this old road through the woods, and the road pans out into a small little village type of place. Although, this place is obviously deserted and nobody is anywhere in sight.

Zombies attack them...at least I think they were zombies. They might have been ghosts.

The key thing I remember (or at least I think I remember) is that fog somehow tied into all of this. I think that once the people got through the fog then they were safe. But once they entered the fog around the village is when the trouble starts.

Any help is appreciated. And for some reason I think Elvira might have had something to do with this...presenting it or something. Thanks.

Oh, and I think the running time for this was relatively short. I wanna say that it was an hour long or less for some reason.

That's the final segment of The Monster Club, an anthology movie.  It was part of Elvira's VHS video line, she did her usual shtick at the beginning and end.

The "zombies" you remember are "ghouls", as the movie calls them.  Basically just cannibals, though they may be immortal or magical, the "rules" weren't explained too well.

Vincent Price and John Carradine appear in the framing story.  It's a pretty good movie overall, actually.
