Roger Corman and Jim Wynorski Breeding a Piranhaconda

Matchflick brings the news that Dinocroc/Dinoshark/Supergator/Sharktopus producer Roger Corman has another high concept mutant up for cinematic gene splicing, a hybrid of a piranha and an anaconda. Sharktopus scribe Michael MacLean is penning the script to be directed by Jim Wynorski of Chopping Mall, Return of Swamp Thing, and Dinocroc vs. Supergator fame.

The movie revolves around the battle with a creature "with razor sharp teeth and 100 feet of constricting power."

That's all we know right now plot-wise, and when talking about a movie titled Piranhaconda, that's really all you need.

Shooting begins next month in Hawaii. The only announced cast member at this time is Diana Terranova (8212: Gacy House, MILF).

No doubt we'll see Piranhaconda slithering around Syfy sometime in the future.

Jim Wynorski used to be one of my favorite directors, but he doesn't seem to be trying any more.  Instead of cheesy and wonderful he's giving us very unremarkable SyFy Originals.  Oh well, Piranhaconda does roll off the tongue I guess  TeddyR

After this weekend's MegaPython and Gatoroid, they'll need another combo monster.  Piranhaconda does have a ring to it...

I thought Sharktopus was fun. Entertaining and just bad enough to be funny. I'm up for Piranhaconda, provided they get an actor to match Eric Roberts in the "campy evil" department.

"Piranhaconda" isn't that last name of the chairman for the Communist Party in Nepal?

I actually prefer Piranhaconda better then Sharktopus.  It rolls off the tongue so much better.  It has a pleasantness all its own.  As for the film itself, can't wait to see it.

Diana Terranova who played such award winning roles like:

Kansas Hating Woman - Prince of Swine
Boobs Chick - Why Men go Gay in LA
GoGo Dancer - Skip Tracer
Hot girl - Room 401
Pizza Slut - Foolish Minds

Every role a winner.  TeddyR

A soon-to-be classic for the ages!

I hope it has a groovy fake B-52s theme song like SHARKTOPUS.
