SPLINTER (2008)

Trapped in an isolated gas station by a voracious Splinter parasite that transforms its still living victims into deadly hosts, a young couple and an escaped convict must find a way to work together to survive this primal terror.

SyFy actually aired a genuinely creepy, well-made, effective movie!

Is this a sign of the Apocalypse?

It's not another Asylum pieceapoop, but an independent film made in Oklahoma that actually received a (very) limited theatrical distribution.

The splinter creature is a really unique and terrifying creature. In a way. I suppose it is a distant relative of Tobonga in FROM HELL IT CAME. Some of the usually cliches are around (c'mon - if people actually acted smart in horror movies the things would only last about ten minutes!) but a good, dark-toned little horror film overall.

I bought the Blu-ray almost two years ago. Love the movie. Great, under appreciated Horror.

Yeah, I was expecting another typical goofy SyFy flick but this was excellent. The monster, particularly the way it moved, really creeped me out.

Thanks, I was considering adding this to my Netflix queue. Now I will.
