Captain Planet is the most useless superhero ever.  His weakness: pollution.  Hopefully nobody litters or drives by as he's attempting to fight crime.

I remeber gong to an arcade, Fun n Games in Natick which is still there in the 80's.  The kids there were under age, had long hair and were smoking. It was packed. Games I played were like Jungle Hunt, Ten Yard Fight. Other game I liked and played probably there and elsewhere were Kangeroo, Crystal Castles Russ'n (?) Attack and of course Marble Madness!

I used to go to the R-Cade in Poway California back in about '82.  I was one of the long haired underage kids smoking, and slipping out back with a group of buddies to smoke something a little stronger  TeddyR  Ahhhh...good times.  Arcades were THE place to hang out back then.

Musically:
New Order
...
A Flock Of Seagulls
...
"Blue Monday" was a favorite.  And I like a few of FLOCK OF SEAGULLS.
Here's some of the 12 inch singles I had back in the day:

We live in quite an interesting age. You can tell someone's sexual orientation and level of education from just their interests.

I loved this album:

And this was made in the '60s but not distributed in the US till 1981:

Two of my favorite arcade games of all-time:
(I own this in my living room)

and hopefully I will acquire this someday:

Played many a game at this arcade in Vancouver Mall:

And at this nickel arcade:

And this place!

And here (pizza was terrible, and Chuck was creepy, but the arcade was great)

Yup.. Dig Dug, NEO GEO (with about 17 games) and Phoenix.
Other cool '80s stuff:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWr79khXZgg" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWr79khXZgg</a>
Though it wasn't the first laserdisc arcade game, it was the most recognizable..
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fMxzeov0Fo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fMxzeov0Fo</a>
Speaking of laserdisc, which were actually invented in the '70s but not released into the US till the '80s:

And who didn't LOVE this film??
