I remember punk rock-and how I was so disillusioned with Reganomics, and every thing! It wasnt just the goverment that p**sed me off-EVERYTHING p**sed me off.-I was a PUNK. Im old now.  Bluesad But back in the day-I was passionate about it. Out spoken.that was over 20 years ago. I was in my 20's then. Do the math. When you get that old your opinion only means anything if you have money or your a celebrity. And who listens to Jello anymore? Sigh. Our opinions aint cool no mo. Were old hat. Like the hippies.

I mentioned it in the "discontinued food/drink" thread but it has a place here too.

God, all the girls LOVED these guys..

I remember eating these nasty, 100% nutritionless cereals..

And I watched a lot of this stupid cartoon.. great theme, though!

And they made a whole show of cartoons based on video games on CBS called..

Boy, this brought back memories when you posted this in that other thread. I haven't thought about it in years.

This stuff was DEE-LOO-SHUSH! The various flavors were not over poweringly strong - it actually tasted like lightly sweetened seltzer water with a few drops of fruit juice or other flavors.

All varieties were good, but the black cherry was by far my favorite.

I miss this stuff!

Did they have a celery soda, or was that Dr. Brown's?  Question

That might have been.. never heard of Dr. Brown's.. I know Jones soda and juices still has weird flavors, don't think I've seen celery.  Starbucks used to carry a cucumber soda.  Sounded kinda interesting.

Yep, Dr. Browns.

A little checking reveals Big Lots now carries New York Seltzer!

EDIT: Never mind. Those posts were from 2005.  Hatred

Late night horror movies!

WPIX 11's Chiller Theatre, canceled in 1982, was a big fave of mine!
Small | Large

Then there was WOR 9's Fright Night
Small | Large

A very special mention to WNEW 5's Creature Features too! No official video of the opening exists, as the first two were, so I'm without  Bluesad

One of my fave cartoons:

Dungeons And Dragons
Small | Large

And, of course, ME-TAL!  Here's a then-unsigned Slayer in their prime back in '85

Small | Large

Of course, I went from the NWOBHM first to the harder stuff, so  must pay my dues to that sadly long-gone time.

One of the best Brit metal bands ever, Tank.
Small | Large

And then we have THIS guy...a band I've loved for years:
Small | Large

And, a beloved farewell to the old Supercade arcade in old Flemington, NJ, and all the great times with friends and family, and to the decade in general.  Too many more things for me to mention, but these things were a big part of my time back then.

And of course, a fond farewell to all the old game systems! The 80's had it all!

 Cheers Cheers Cheers

FOX had its humble beginnings in the '80s.. It was KPDX channel 49 in the Portland area.  It was dubbed "Home of the Stars".
This show was pretty popular.  Fortunately Cos was pretty restrained here.

Another good show:

And of course, these dolls and their sticker counterparts..

Sorry, BTM.. but this was the best pic I could find:

Colecovision!   I had one a' those!  The game system with the first experimental cellphones for controllers (at least in design) and some of the very first titles somewhat faithful to the arcade versions with regards to graphics.

Some of the games, like Cosminc Avenger also had the same music as the arcade game as well.  Seems so many years ago now though.....

Ate a lot of this:

Great album:

Didn't get to watch much of this show (it had a ridiculously early time slot on WTBS back then) but I loved it:

Prob'ly '83.
That YouTube is an edit from the original release; I think they cut the original down for a 45 rpm release back in the day, presumably the source for that YouTube, which I'm sure tanked.  The 12 inch was clearer and more candid that the source were prank calls to CARVEL Ice Cream stores which were franchises with collective advertising of the ice cream cake "Cookie Puss"...  BounceGiggle Thumbup
It was kind of outlaw.   TeddyR
