I know Little River Band was from the '70s, but they sure got a lot of love in this great movie from the '80s:

The old Gorgon Video logo!  I remember it well.

I also remember them releasing that uber-sick Italian movie Beyond The Darkness aka Buried Alive that I'd only once or twice and then never again because it was perhaps the grossest thing I'd ever seen up to that point.

This was a great "best of gory moments" tape:

Cheese, glorious cheese.. Cameron Mitchell style!

"Hold It Now, Hit It" by Beastie Boys
This is the record that started THE BEASTIE BOYS, another 12 inch single ( Wink) that I no longer have (and that one was hard to find!!)  NSFW:

Love it.  That was like, what, '83?
Prob'ly '83.
That YouTube is an edit from the original release; I think they cut the original down for a 45 rpm release back in the day, presumably the source for that YouTube, which I'm sure tanked.  The 12 inch was clearer and more candid that the source were prank calls to CARVEL Ice Cream stores which were franchises with collective advertising of the ice cream cake "Cookie Puss"...  BounceGiggle Thumbup
It was kind of outlaw.   TeddyR
I'm sure a few people didn't think they'd be around in 2011 with a new cd on the way. Buggedout  I didn't hear of em til Licensed to Ill came out.

We can thank the '80s for the birth of direct-to-video garbage, starting with:

More 80s candy:

A shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch, and a sensible dinner!

Twizzlers had been around before the '80s but this commercial was omnipresent that decade:

Another food that was around earlier but had a familiar commercial in the 80s:
I hope you're hungry!  Cause you'll have to eat x amount of bowls of your cereal.. to get the nutrition equal to one bowl of Total!

And before Who Wants To Be A Millionaire came around..
