There's no doubt that Gremlins 2 is good.

But it's gotta be Ghostbusters by a mile.

I voted for GHOSTBUSTERS.  However, to be honest, I'm not as impressed with that movie as many other people seem to be.  I think it's because it was in the theaters for several weeks before I got around to seeing it.  Everyone was talking about it and saying how funny it was and reciting some of the dialogue.  So, by the time I saw it, I was probably already sick and tired of hearing about it.  I should have seen it the first week it came out.

I voted for Ghostbusters, but it only won by a slim margin. I don't know if those movies were release on the exact same date, but they were definately running at the same time because my buddy and I went to the multiplex and watched both of those movies in the same day. We watched Ghostbusters first then Gremlins. My buddy preferred Gremlins though and we spent the rest of the evening arguing over which was better.

Gremlins for me.  Looking back on them now, I just see Ghostbusters as being good for a chuckle or two, then done.  Gremlins really had some heart and because of that I can still watch it and enjoy it today.

Same here!

This is actually a very tough one for that very reason - they both are great movies that came at the exact same time in my childhood.  I'm gonna give the ever so slight edge (and it kinda pains me to do it) to Gremlins in honor of Phoebe Cate's Christmas monologue...

I went with Ghostbusters. The Ghostbusters films and cartoon series, and Firehouse playset (its pole of course doubled as a great fencing sword) are deeply engrained into my early childhood. I don't think I can ever take off my rosetinted nostalgia glasses when it comes to GBs.

Although as a adult I grew up to appreciate Joe Dante's manic style. His films are full of scathing wit and silly irreverence and sometimes genuine scares.

Gremlins, The New Batch being one of my favorite movies ever. I don't dislike Ghostbusters, just not really a fan.

I honestly love both movies. But, if I really had to pick one, it's Gremlins. Mainly because I have a lot of nostalgia attached to it. Watching that movie brings back a lot of good memories from my high school years.

Bustin' made me feel...better.  I do love Gremlins though.  In the realm of Gremlins 2, I think it may beat both Gremlins and Ghostbusters.

Ghostbusters.  It's still good.  In fact, it's even better than I thought when I was five years old.

Gremlins is ... not.

I like Ghostbusters, but I love Gremlins.  I never really watched Ghostbusters as a child so there's a lack of nostalgia, but it's still very funny and entertaining, but I don't get in the mood to watch it very often.

Now Gremlins 2 doesn't really count in this poll since it came out in 1990, but I'm glad to see that it gets some respect around here.  I think it's really underrated and loads of fun.  Better than the first, although they're very different films.

I gotta go with Gremlins. I saw Ghostbusters in the theatre and it was fun, but I think Gremlins holds up better.
