Never give up on love

« on: March 20, 2011, 07:29:21 AM »

I was thinking today about all the tv shows that have come and gone and how some were so popular they are an entrenched part of the culture (Friends and Seinfeld, for example).  But I didn't watch some shows even though they were insanely popular.  Here's my list:

Twin Peaks
A-Team
Greatest American Hero
Quantum Leap
Magnum PI
My Sister Sam
My Two Dads
Perfect Strangers
Baywatch
Murder, She Wrote
Diagnosis Murder
Highway To Heaven
7th Heaven
Party of Five
Simon & Simon
Falcon Crest

Which shows did you never watch no matter how popular they were or how many people recommended them?

Amongst many others, this one is actually the first one I thought of when I saw this thread.  I like shows with more answers than questions.

Doggett will probably defriend me but................The X-Files.    Buggedout

But I have watched many obscure Canadian shows in the superhero, horror, sci-fi, animated and fantasy genres.

Most of them.  Some notable ones I've refused to watch:

Friends.  Watched an episode and parts of others and never, ever laughed, plus the characters were all hatable.
Two and a Half Men, though I'm not sure whether this was popular or not.
Dr. Who
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Lost

On behalf of every citizen of my country, Doggett, I sincerely apologise for the dreck that is known as Neighbours.

Although we Aussies are generally an easy going friendly give -you-the-shirt-off-our-backs type of nation, we did slide into the Crimes Against Humanity Circle of Hell by foisting Neighbours upon the unsuspecting populace of the world.  TeddyR

I was forced to watch the last season of LOST... yeah and I was lost, very lost. I didn't like it.

I never watched the new V. I hear people say it sucks... it that true? I'm a fan of the old V.

I never watched any Dr. Whos... but I would like to... where to start? Any suggestions?

Basically anything popular:
Lost
CSI
Two and a Half Men
The Sopranos
Supernatural
Dexter
House
American Idol
Jersey Shore
Etc...

I don't watch too much TV as it is.  If I do, it's on Netflix or DVD, so I can choose what I want to watch, rather than watching whatever is on.

Almost everything after the early 1980s.  If I want to see a show bad enough now, I buy the DVDs when they get released.  Back in the 70s I watched a lot of shows on a regular basis:  ALL IN THE FAMILY, BARNEY MILLER, THE ROOKIES, THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW, THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN, and stuff like that.  Now, I just can't seem to get in the habit of tuning into any show on a regular basis.

I'm with you on Friends, Rev.
I don't watch any of those Gossip Girls type shows either. I might watch a reality show if the contestants ended up thrown into a giant blender or hunted by pygmy headhunters or something.
