I thought BEST WORST MOVIE was an enjoyable documentary. It should have been the actual title of TROLL 2. But TROLL 2 is a true monument to bad film making. The funniest part of the doc. is the Italian director defending it. Poor guy, he was so disillusioned, he just couldn't understand how people could like the movie and think it's bad at the same time. But I think it's a cultural difference. The dentist that played the dad seemed really cool. I love how he relished in his fifteen seconds of fame. It is a fascinating look at how a film becomes a cult phenomenon.

Haven't seen "Best Worst Movie," but it sounds like something I need to see, as it is probably one of the few documentaries that is actually better than the movie upon which it is based.

Still, the film is not the worst film I've ever seen, as I do find it somewhat watchable, epecially the scene between Brent (David McConnell) and Creedence (Deborah Reed.) Actually, it reminds me of the scenes between the boy scout and the vampiress in "Lair of the White Worm." Both scenes being quite hot and daring.

As for the director, Claudio Fragasso, from what I understand, he's a nice enough guy, whose reach in making "Troll 2" did not match his grasp. For example that scene where Creedence smothers Brent in popcorn, while they are making out together. A nice idea, but one that clearly exceeded the director's skill in pulling it off.

I am of the belief that most bad movies are really good movies, because they are entertaining. The only truly bad movie is a boring one. "Troll 2" is so much more enjoyable than most "Oscar-Worthy movies." The Academy still doesn't get it.
