i'm going on a dvd binge pretty soon and i was wondering if you guys could reccomend some movies (good or bad). i like horror, slashers, giallos, and exploitation and plain ol' trash films. it would help if the movies are kind of obscure and as long as they're on dvd. i usually stick with movies from the 70s and 80s if that helps.

THE COWBOY KILLER

LYNCH MOB

THE BLOOD SHED

(The first two are filled with wonderful cheesey goodness.  The last one is if you are a true movie masochist!)

I just discovered Outlander, I thought it was really good.

The recent Pee Wee's Playhouse thread reminded me how great THE HONEYMOON KILLERS (1970) is. Highly recommended!

Some good input already I see. 70's "must haves" for my dream collection would be:

Psychomania (1971)
Equinox (1970)
Starcrash (1979)

Oh, and Jesus Franco films are good is you want trippy Euro stuff. He made a ton of films in the 70's. I have Vampyros Lesbos on DVD.

BLoodmania which I saw last night and reviewed in recent viewing fits the "plain old trash" catagory very well.

I'm just going down my dvd rentals and seeing what I gave high marks to

who can kill a child? -

The Wild and Wonderful Whites "when I stabbed him...that was cool"

Masters of the Universe w/ what's his name Drago

The King Of Comedy

Altered States

Metal Skin - by the guy who did Romper Stomper

The Stepfather

Screwballs

Louis Ck: chewed up - this guy is hilarious

Slumber party- warning REALLY bad! I still liked it. black people going "aw HELL naw" every 5 seconds

Chariots of the Gods- the basis for most history channel specials circa 2011
