Dr. Earhardt was terrible, ruined season 1.  Can't stand to hear his whiny little voice.  Weinstein was good as Servo, though.

Murphy was a better Servo, but Weinstein was good, and deserves credit for creating the character. But I can't stand him as Dr. Earhardt either. He overdoes the whiny, obnoxious character to the point that he becomes genuinely whiny and obnoxious. I think as a sidekick, I think TV's Frank suited the show's style better. Weinstein is actually much better doing Cinematic Titanic.

I discovered MST3K relatively late. I don't think it was widely seen in Canada when it first aired. I know I didn't get Comedy Central or Sci-Fi, and I'm not sure they were available here at the time. We seemed to get Canadian equivalents of many of the specialty channels. Anyway, I didn't hear about the show until I happened across a review of the movie, and when it came out on video, I found a copy at a video store that specialized in cult classics, genre films, etc. I was later able to buy all of the Rhino VHS releases as they came out, and rent the DVD releases that came later.

For the other episodes, I can thank all of the people who saved and circulated them, and eventually shared them on P2P sites. I'd have had no problem paying for them if they'd been offered, but many weren't. I can honestly say I legitimately paid, either through purchase or rental, for every episode I've seen that got a proper video release.

I lost my 'riffverginity' with THE BLACK SCORPION.
After that, I had to have my riff fix.
Prefered Joel to Mike, but I can deal with both.
My fav. cast was Frank/Dr. F/ Joel.

As Jole had made the bots, he was more like their dad, while Mike has more a 'frat brother' relationship with them.
I've done 26 'roll yer own' riff tapes, and while I've started other projects, doing a full script for REPTILICUS was a proud moment for me.
Boy, am I easily amused!

I discovered t show late; it was already on SciFi - it was in college & I'd ddiscovered the best time to do laundry was Saturday mornings b/c nobody was up. I would sit in the student lounge and watch while I waited for my laundry to finish - yeah, I was a real party animal.  The one I lost my rffginity to was MOLE PEOPLE

Still one of my favorite shows - I enjoy the actual movies from the later seasons more but I thought the writing was best during the Frank & Forrester years.   Can't stand Dr. Earhardt but Josh was a decent enough Servo (people diss him but the real problem was the character hadn't been very "fleshed" out at that point)
