I wonder what the Japanese would use to create a modernized vision between the two monster icons. Surely if they had a decent sized budget to work with they'd go with CGI instead of the traditional man-in-suit method they've been using for all Godzilla flicks (yes, even the most recent ones.)

Boo to anything but the suitmation technique!! Some CGI cleverly mixed with it might work though...

How about PreGodzilla 1944 vs. King Kong 1976. I wanna see THAT!

Both Monsters are about the same size... although I think Kong may have the advantage...



For those that don't know, that's Godzilla before the Bikini H-Bomb test. Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991).

Thoughts?


I haven't seen the 1991 version of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, but I have heard about the pre Godzilla dinosaur mythology which I think is a really interesting concept. Kong from 1976 may of been the biggest of all 3 main films, but I don't think he was the strongest. He struggled with that giant snake, where as Kong 33 and Kong 05 handled multiple dinosaurs (including T-Rexs) without breaking a sweat.

I'm not a fan of CGI, but even the recent Godzilla flicks could use with a upgrade. The FX aren't exactly top of the line, and they did use CGI in Final Wars to create Zilla (from the 1998 U.S remake) which didn't look that great either.

I'm not sure they would.  Man-in-rubber suit is kind of a tradition with these things and Japan is big on their traditions. 

If they did do this movie, I just hope they wouldn't take a cue from the latest King Kong remake.  The cuter, more relatable Kong just never worked as well for me.
