Yeah.  I believe there's an Egyptian doctor or something who is next in line.  They were talking about him on the radio today.  I'm sure the Navy Seals are already getting ready for him to show one hair on his ass so they can blow it off.

I'm glad he's dead but I can't help but feel sorry for the 72 virgins he gets. The poor things have probably all got some kind of funky beard rash by now.

On the news several people who lost someone in the 9/11 attack said they finally felt a sense of closure. Some Americans who lost no one in the attack but still felt affected by it felt the same way. And I'm sure this deals a severe blow to Al Qeda. So I think this is a good thing.

I don't know what kind of blow it deals, I've been reading that he is more of a figurehead than anything else anymore. I think it helps those who were personally affected by 9/11, and that's a good thing.

I thought it was 70 virgins. Does he get a bonus or something?

Unless they're 72 virgin honey badgers.  Hey, it never said what kind of virgins he'd be getting.

Yes.  I think there were other people directly involved over the years.  I think bin Laden had great power within it but was a figurehead type.

On the news several people who lost someone in the 9/11 attack said they finally felt a sense of closure. Some Americans who lost no one in the attack but still felt affected by it felt the same way. And I'm sure this deals a severe blow to Al Qeda. So I think this is a good thing.
I didn't personally know anyone who died that day, but as a young 18 year old just starting my senior year of high school and facing an uncertain future in terms of college/work, seeing those towers come crashing down and hearing talk of war left me facing an even more uncertain future.  So regardless of where about bin Laden was now, power-wise, it did give some sense of closure last night.  Not that it'll stop them entirely.  If anything, in the short-term, it makes me wonder what kind of retaliatory actions from them will come about.  I read in some newspapers that Bush said in his press release a forewarning to other terrorists that: "It may take us ten days or ten years, but we'll find you, capture you or kill you."

Agree with the fact that Bin Laden's killing will really be a chance for Al Qaeda to give themselves a reason for retaliation (on top of whatever REAL reason they had for 9\11 outside of their usual b***hing about America and Israel.)

And seeing what they did on 9\11, God only knows what insane stuff Al Qaeda and the Taliban will come up with next.

The immediate danger isn't to America, but our soldiers and those of the Allies stationed in the war zones. They'll most likely be the first targets. There have already been a number of US\Allied\NATO soldiers slain by Taliban and Al Qaeda operatives disguised as Afghan security forces.

There'll be even more distrust among Our Forces and the Afghan forces than ever before.

Yes, but not one with the abilities OBL had. As we take out the leaders, the lower the 'quality' of the leader that is willing to step up. At least that's how I see it.

I got a buddy, a guy I've known since I'm 7 years old (I'm now 27), that is shipping over to that region in a couple of weeks for a tour of duty.  Makes me just a tad bit nervous, not just for him, but for all service members who'll be directly in the line of fire for the next few months.

9/11 is my birthday and the attack on the WTC left me devastated for months afterwards ~ I haven't had a proper birthday celebration since.
