13. $070,906,973 - Groundhog Day
14. $070,172,621 - Grumpy Old Men
15. $068,856,263 - Cool Runnings
16. $063,270,710 - Dave
17. $063,179,523 - Rising Sun
18. $058,055,768 - Demolition Man
19. $057,319,029 - Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit
20. $056,505,065 - Tombstone

Seen all except Grumpy Old Men and Cool Runnings, which was annoyingly hyped as I recall. Too bad Andrew Davis (The Fugitive) hasn't made any movies since 2006. Such an underrated director.

In the Line of Fire, Schindler's List, and Groundhog Day alone make this a good year. There are some other good ones too.

Lots of different genres in there.
A good mix of films, it's nice to know audiences will go to anything as long as it's good (Well, I don't know why anyone would pay to see Dave...).

I have a major regret not seeing Jurassic Park in the theater.

SHINDLER'S LIST & GROUNDHOG DAY are both 5 star classics in my book.

Notable non-qualifiers:

THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (disappointing that this couldn't crack the top 20)
DAZED AND CONFUSED
NATURAL BORN KILLERS
TRUE ROMANCE
ARIZONA DREAM
CRONOS
RED ROCK WEST (not released theatrically)

DOMESTIC GROSSES #1–20

01. $357,067,947 - Jurassic Park (I loved this one, totally a thrill ride. Shouldn't be # 1 though)
02. $219,195,243 - Mrs. Doubtfire (Actually this was quite funny and surprisingly moving at times)
03. $183,875,760 - The Fugitive (a bit dumbed down perhaps but still pretty good)
04. $158,348,367 - The Firm (Didn't care for it at all)
05. $126,680,884 - Sleepless in Seattle (Pretty good)
06. $106,614,059 - Indecent Proposal (Not half bad thriller)

10. $084,049,211 - Cliffhanger (overrated but has its moments)

11. $077,698,625 - Free Willy (overrated but recall it being a huge deal - unconvincing plot)
12. $077,446,440 - Philadelphia (pretty good, great acting from Hanks)
13. $070,906,973 - Groundhog Day (my favourite from this year)
14. $070,172,621 - Grumpy Old Men (pretty darn good and funny IMO)

01. $357,067,947 - Jurassic Park
Idiot picture, but the dinosaurs were cool.

02. $219,195,243 - Mrs. Doubtfire
s**t

03. $183,875,760 - The Fugitive
Excellent movie, easily the best on this list.

04. $158,348,367 - The Firm
An example of how good Tom Cruise can be when he tones it down a little.  Also, Gene Hackman!

05. $126,680,884 - Sleepless in Seattle
Never saw.

06. $106,614,059 - Indecent Proposal
Never saw.

07. $102,314,823 - In the Line of Fire
Pretty good.

08. $100,768,056 - The Pelican Brief
Meh.

09. $096,065,768 - Schindler's List
I am philosophically opposed to movies based on real people and events, but Liam Neeson did a great job with his role.

10. $084,049,211 - Cliffhanger
One of Stallone's best.

11. $077,698,625 - Free Willy
Never saw.

12. $077,446,440 - Philadelphia
This was about the gay lawyer with HIV, right?

13. $070,906,973 - Groundhog Day
Never saw.

14. $070,172,621 - Grumpy Old Men
Meh.

15. $068,856,263 - Cool Runnings
Never saw.

16. $063,270,710 - Dave
???

17. $063,179,523 - Rising Sun
I remember enjoying this quite a bit, but I've never seen it again.

18. $058,055,768 - Demolition Man
One of Stallone's worst.

19. $057,319,029 - Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit
Never saw.

20. $056,505,065 - Tombstone
Starts out good, falls apart about halfway through.  The showdown with Doc Holliday and Johnny Ringo was great.

01. $357,067,947 - Jurassic Park----"Dodgson, Dodgson, we have Dodgson here! See? Nobody cares. Nice hat! What are ya tryin' to look like - a secret agent? "

02. $219,195,243 - Mrs. Doubtfire---Missed it.
03. $183,875,760 - The Fugitive--- It was exciting and intelligent, and set in my hometown!
04. $158,348,367 - The Firm---Missed it
05. $126,680,884 - Sleepless in Seattle----Missed it
06. $106,614,059 - Indecent Proposal---Missed it.
07. $102,314,823 - In the Line of Fire---I liked it alot. Malkovich vs Eastwood, that's good stuff.
08. $100,768,056 - The Pelican Brief---Missed it.
09. $096,065,768 - Schindler's List----Impressive all around.
10. $084,049,211 - Cliffhanger---One of my favorite Stallone movies.

11. $077,698,625 - Free Willy----Double Missed it.
12. $077,446,440 - Philadelphia---Missed it.
13. $070,906,973 - Groundhog Day---Classic comedy.
14. $070,172,621 - Grumpy Old Men----It was pretty funny and good to see Matthau and Lemon working together again.
15. $068,856,263 - Cool Runnings----I liked it. I'm a sucker for anything with John Candy.
16. $063,270,710 - Dave----Missed it
17. $063,179,523 - Rising Sun---A good mix of thriller and light social commentary.
18. $058,055,768 - Demolition Man--I loved this one. It was an over the top action movie with a sense of humor. IMHO a helf serious parady of action movies, like the more recent Shoot'em Up. I still quote some lines from it.
19. $057,319,029 - Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit--Missed it
20. $056,505,065 - Tombstone--I loved it. It wasn't to heavy or introspective, just a fun action packed Western with some good performances, especially by Val Kilmer.

I consider every scene in which that actor appears as a highlight scene.
