When I was probably 10 or 11 years old I was in a store with my best friend.  We both loved science fiction and they had a bin full of paperback science fiction books.  They were selling them really cheap . . . probably something like 3 for $1.00 (I seem to remember buying 3 of them).  Anyway, the one that stands out in my mind was called DEATH ON A WARM WIND.  I read it at least 3 times.  Of course, it was pulp sci-fi schlock and I suspect if I read it now I would think it was terrible.  But back then I thought it was great.  Here's the cover:

Anyone else have great reading memories from days gone by?

My mother loved anything horror, especially books. One boring rainy day while on vacation in Spain I started reading one of her books called Cold Moon Over Babylon while recovering from a sunburn. I was about 11 at that time, and the book gave me the creeps

Another one I read shortly after was Joggers Moon, about a serial killer chopping off legs and feet of female joggers  Buggedout

I always thought both books would make for great movies.
