We're starting to get into my movie-watching wheelhouse.  I've seen all of these except Legends of the Fall and The Santa Clause, and I hope I never do see either of those....

Generations is one of my favorites because Shatner finally effing dies.   Cheers

The fact that The Flintstones made over $130 million is staggering to me.  It's one of the worst movies I've seen, and not in a particularly good way.

I think it has to do with a few things. One, it was heavily marketed. Two, it was still early enough in the tv-shows-turned-into-movies trend that I think the mass market was still intrigued by it. Three, it had John Goodman, and in 1994 I don't think the general populace had figured out yet that he tends to suck unless he's in a Coen Brothers film.

Overall, not as good a year as 1993, but there are some decent movies in there.

That year I saw True Lies and The Mask in the theater.  Both times I went with my father.  Recall somewhat liking True Lies and loathing The Mask.   I remember The Mask did get an ovation from the theater goers though.

PULP FICTION is the only one on that list I really like; there are several titles that are OK.

Notables that didn't make the list:

CLERKS
DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE [CEMETERY MAN]
THE LEGEND OF DRUNKEN MASTER
ED WOOD
HEAVENLY CREATURES
CHUNGKING EXPRESS
CLEAN, SHAVEN
THE PROFESSIONAL [LEON]
SERIAL MOM

01. $329,694,499 - Forrest Gump- Not bad, but not my favorite.
02. $312,855,561 - The Lion King- Not my favorite Disney flick, but in my top five.
03. $146,282,411 - True Lies- Meh.  Okay enough.
04. $144,833,357 - The Santa Clause- Holiday flick, not entirely sh*t, but eh.
05. $130,531,208 - The Flintstones- As a kid, it was fun.  As an adult, not so much.
06. $127,175,374 - Dumb and Dumber- Very very funny.  Some slightly bizarre humor but funny.
07. $122,187,717 - Clear and Present Danger- Didn't like it.
08. $121,248,145 - Speed- Why can't they just keep Keanu Reeves in Bill and Ted movies?
09. $119,938,730 - The Mask- I liked it.  A bit of a departure from the comic book, but funny.
10. $107,928,762 - Pulp Fiction- Best movie on the list, in my opinion.
11. $105,264,608 - Interview with the Vampire- No good.
12. $101,631,272 - Maverick- Never saw.
13. $092,115,211 - The Client- Decent enough.
14. $083,015,089 - Disclosure- Never watched.
15. $075,671,125 - Star Trek: Generations- I don't like Star Trek.  Didn't watch.
16. $072,217,396 - Ace Ventura: Pet Detective- I don't really understand how people can hate Jim Carrey.
17. $071,567,262 - Stargate- Okay movie.  Watch it now and then on cable.
18. $066,638,883 - Legends of the Fall- Didn't like.
19. $065,002,597 - Wolf- Never watched.
20. $057,362,582 - The Specialist- Never even heard of this.

One thing you have to give Dumb and Dumber - it delivers what it promises.  Nobody can claim they didn't know what they were getting into...

01. $329,694,499 - Forrest Gump
Hey, Forrest, that's probably not even your kid, rofl.

02. $312,855,561 - The Lion King
Had its moments but didn't live up to the hype.

03. $146,282,411 - True Lies
The action scenes are good to varying degrees, the rest of the movie is ... eh.

04. $144,833,357 - The Santa Clause
Never saw.

05. $130,531,208 - The Flintstones
AWFUL.  John Goodman, how could you?

06. $127,175,374 - Dumb and Dumber
Well, they sure are dumb.  And, uh, why is that funny in and of itself?

07. $122,187,717 - Clear and Present Danger
Pretty good, as I recall.

08. $121,248,145 - Speed
Dumb as hell but just entertaining enough that I don't regret seeing it.  Once.

09. $119,938,730 - The Mask
Another of those movies that I liked a lot the first time but not so much the second time.

10. $107,928,762 - Pulp Fiction
Bruce Willis's part was pretty good, the rest did not interest me.

11. $105,264,608 - Interview with the Vampire
Crap.

12. $101,631,272 - Maverick
Never saw.

13. $092,115,211 - The Client
Is this that movie about the little kid and Susan Sarandon?

14. $083,015,089 - Disclosure
???

15. $075,671,125 - Star Trek: Generations
I saw this with my friend Jason.  While it was on, we were blown away with how awesome it was.  Then, minutes after it ended, we were like, "Wait.  Actually, that sucked.  WTF?"

16. $072,217,396 - Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
Funny in spots.

17. $071,567,262 - Stargate
See my comment for "The Mask", although the production design still holds up today.  I can see why someone would take the property and make an ongoing series around it.

18. $066,638,883 - Legends of the Fall
???

19. $065,002,597 - Wolf
This is a serious drama, damn it!  It's not a horror movie, ya hear!  Without Nicholson's monstrous charisma, this movie wouldn't have worked at all.

20. $057,362,582 - The Specialist
One of my favorite Stallone movies, and James Woods is sleazily charming, as always.
