DOMESTIC GROSSES #1–20

01. $600,788,188 - Titanic
02. $250,690,539 - Men in Black
03. $229,086,679 - The Lost World: Jurassic Park
04. $181,410,615 - Liar Liar
05. $172,956,409 - Air Force One
06. $148,478,011 - As Good as It Gets
07. $138,433,435 - Good Will Hunting
08. $138,257,865 - Star Wars (Special Edition)
09. $127,120,029 - My Best Friend's Wedding
10. $125,304,276 - Tomorrow Never Dies

11. $112,276,146 - Face/Off
12. $107,325,195 - Batman and Robin
13. $105,263,257 - George of the Jungle
14. $101,363,301 - Scream 2
15. $101,117,573 - Con Air
16. $100,920,329 - Contact
17. $099,112,101 - Hercules

19. $075,982,834 - Conspiracy Theory
20. $072,586,134 - I Know What You Did Last Summer

Good year I guess. I didn't mind the Titanic and Men in Black hype as I enjoyed both, and I thought Liar Liar was a bit on the overrated side. Never seen Good Will Hunting because it didn't appeal to me.

Only liked Men In Black and Face/Off. This was yet another year the focus was shifted even more on massive budgets and special effects, having a "blockbuster" basically all year round. Again, for me, there's nothing really that special about any of these movies that sticks in my mind or the feeling that I wouldn't mind seeing some of them another time.

Went to see Hercules 3 times and loved it.  Thumbup
Still do.

Tomorrow Never Dies is the only Bond film I ever saw at the cinema and thought it was a lot of fun.
I think the films are fine. Not great classics, but an alright bunch.

20 is scary.
Scary for starting the cheap horror franchise brand.  Bluesad

Batman and Robin, well, everyone knows about that...

Oh, and I never saw the appeal of Flubber.

Wow, I saw a sheed load on this list in the theaters!

Titanic - still the worst movie I've ever endured story wise.
Men In Black - hated that movie at first but ended up loving it after viewing it many times afterwards.
The Lost World - Terrible...horrible misfire of a sequel.
Star Wars - it was good to see it on the big screen
Tomorrow Never Dies  - the best out of the Brosnan era.
Face Off - great action flick, the concept was interesting at least.
Batman And Robin - well...you know...
Con Air - Another good action film...

01. $600,788,188 - Titanic- Didn't like it.  Cameron's vastly, vastly overrated.  Hated most of his films.
02. $250,690,539 - Men in Black- Quite liked it.
03. $229,086,679 - The Lost World: Jurassic Park- Didn't really like it as much.  Loved the first one.
04. $181,410,615 - Liar Liar- Pretty funny movie.  Not the greatest movie ever, but found parts funny.
05. $172,956,409 - Air Force One- Can't think of one Harrison Ford movie I liked, this included.
06. $148,478,011 - As Good as It Gets- Overrated, but not a bad movie.  Enjoyable.
07. $138,433,435 - Good Will Hunting- Affleck works best when in Jay and Silent Bob movies.
08. $138,257,865 - Star Wars (Special Edition)- Dislike pretty much all Star Wars movies.
09. $127,120,029 - My Best Friend's Wedding- Don't know what this is.
10. $125,304,276 - Tomorrow Never Dies- I don't like James Bond movies at all.
11. $112,276,146 - Face/Off- Didn't bother watching it.  Nic Cage...eh.
12. $107,325,195 - Batman and Robin- Disappointment by all means.
13. $105,263,257 - George of the Jungle- Didn't watch it.
14. $101,363,301 - Scream 2- Somewhat enjoyable but by no means a classic horror movie.
15. $101,117,573 - Con Air- Didn't watch it.
16. $100,920,329 - Contact- Didn't watch it.
17. $099,112,101 - Hercules- Decent movie.
18. $092,977,226 - Flubber- I tend to avoid all Robin Williams, whenever possible.
19. $075,982,834 - Conspiracy Theory- I liked it, oddly.
20. $072,586,134 - I Know What You Did Last Summer- Avoid it.

I surprised that Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery didn't make the list. I still love that movie. I thought it did pretty decent at the box office, enough to maybe squeak in, but I guess not. I mean, it spawned two sequels.

I like you other mentions as well. I seem to be the only person among people I know who liked Rushmore, and the soundtrack was phenomenal. Jackie Brown is my favorite QT film.

01. $600,788,188 - Titanic
Not bad, but certainly not good.  It's just kind of there, like Avatar.

02. $250,690,539 - Men in Black
Quite well-thought out and well-made.  Just a good movie.

03. $229,086,679 - The Lost World: Jurassic Park
An idiot picture - and how!  The dinosaurs were cool, though.

04. $181,410,615 - Liar Liar
Jim Carrey's only good movie.

05. $172,956,409 - Air Force One
Cheesey action flick, nothing special.

06. $148,478,011 - As Good as It Gets
???

07. $138,433,435 - Good Will Hunting
Nope.  No way.

08. $138,257,865 - Star Wars (Special Edition)
I'll take the original, thanks.

09. $127,120,029 - My Best Friend's Wedding
???

10. $125,304,276 - Tomorrow Never Dies
Not as good as Goldeneye but a fun action romp.

11. $112,276,146 - Face/Off
At the time, I simply could not tolerate John Travolta, and I have never been able to tolerate Nicholas Cage.  I'm also not too fond of John Woo.  So, never saw it.

12. $107,325,195 - Batman and Robin
Pretty bad, but at least better than Batman Forever.

13. $105,263,257 - George of the Jungle
Never saw.

14. $101,363,301 - Scream 2
What's the point?

15. $101,117,573 - Con Air
Meh.

16. $100,920,329 - Contact
Nothing is resolved.  f**k you, audience!  Moo-hoo-ha-ha-ha!

17. $099,112,101 - Hercules
Never saw.

18. $092,977,226 - Flubber
Never saw.

19. $075,982,834 - Conspiracy Theory
Low key, which was nice in a year of bombastic, overblown movies.

20. $072,586,134 - I Know What You Did Last Summer
s**t!

I believe the thing with Austin Powers was that, while it performed moderately well at the theater (not a bomb, but not a higly grossing film), it strongly built it's audience with showings on HBO and VHS/DVD.  I was in 7th grade at the time and the video was passed around the classroom every weekend.  So the studio was happy with the money it made on home sales.

Rushmore was decent, too.  Underrated.

True. It got immensely popular once it was released on home video and shown on TV. Mike Meyer's "Groovy, baby" was part of my vocabulary back then.

DOMESTIC GROSSES #1–20

01. $600,788,188 - Titanic- Was offended they took such a huge tragedy and used it to churn out such an inane romance movie...
02. $250,690,539 - Men in Black - Pretty good. Has some great ideas at least. Better than I expected but yeah still overrated.
03. $229,086,679 - The Lost World: Jurassic Park - There were some things I liked but overall a rather disappointing sequel.
04. $181,410,615 - Liar Liar - I liked Carrey's performance here. Some good moments here and there but rather predictable fare overall and the ending is very unbelievable...
05. $172,956,409 - Air Force One - I enjoyed it at the time. Don`t recall much about it now though.
06. $148,478,011 - As Good as It Gets - I loved this at the time. Surprisingly good.
07. $138,433,435 - Good Will Hunting - Honestly I hate this.
08. $138,257,865 - Star Wars (Special Edition) - Why? Pointless messing with something that was fine as was...
09. $127,120,029 - My Best Friend's Wedding - Haven't seen.
10. $125,304,276 - Tomorrow Never Dies - Was disappointed by this Bond film too.

11. $112,276,146 - Face/Off - Haven't seen.
12. $107,325,195 - Batman and Robin - Big disappointment. Dumb movie take on 60s TV series but nowhere near as clever.
13. $105,263,257 - George of the Jungle - Haven't seen.
14. $101,363,301 - Scream 2 - Haven't seen.
15. $101,117,573 - Con Air - Haven't seen.
16. $100,920,329 - Contact - I rather liked it although I think it's slightly overrated.
17. $099,112,101 - Hercules - Haven't seen.
18. $092,977,226 - Flubber - Haven't seen.
19. $075,982,834 - Conspiracy Theory - Haven't seen.
20. $072,586,134 - I Know What You Did Last Summer - Haven't seen.
