police thriller/horror movie 1983-1989

Hello,
It's about a movie with two cops that arrested a professor which had a re-animator machine (the professor made a test with a frog, which is brought to life). They shot a guy in a day and the next day the guy walks on the street alive. One of the policeman is killed, and his partner will re-animate him to continue fighting with this bad people. The other policeman is killed too and re-animated by the criminal and try to kill his partner. It's a funny scene when one of this two cops (which was re-animated) is shot and the personal from ambulance put him in plastic bag; after a while, the zipper of the plastic bag is open by the cop and shows to the other cops the badge and is leaving by motorcycle. In other scene, when he was shaving, when he close a door from a small locker for a second he sees himself as zombie. In the final, they "resolve the problem" and go to the sauna or pool and one of them said "do you believe in reincarnation?". The film should be made in 1983' - 89'. I don't know the actors. One of two this actors look very well with Christopher McDonald (when had long hair like in "Breakin" movie), but I checked and it's not him. I searched for hours, still searching. I saw it in '89 and I just remembered this movie when I was looking for other movies.

This sounds like "Dead Heat" (1988).
