Robert Quarry comes to mind too, as Count Yorga.

In regards to his moderate resemblance to another great actor, I always looked at Quarry as the poor man's Christopher Lee.  Both movies were pretty good.

Not only in the to Count Yorga films, but even his performance as the hippie vampire in The Deathmaster, Quarry showed a flare for the sinister. He was pretty cool.

17. OK-here's a rarity-an actor named Paul Askonas had the honor of portraying the Count  before Max Shreck or Lugosi in the Hungarian(!) made DEATH OF DRACULA in 1921! Here's a photo!

Unfortuantly-we will never see it. It's lost. Some stills are all that remain-and the mere fact that the film existed was unkown until recently.

Hmm...now this an interesting find!  And on the topic of lost films, I'm sure that Lon Chaney Sr. would have had no problem earning a spot for his role in London After Midnight, if that film were still in existence.

LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT: Which,of course, was remade by the same director ( Tod Browning-who directed DRACULA)with Bela Lugosi as MARK OF THE VAMPIRE (1935)
Here's the original poster for the Hungarian DRAKULA HALALA (1921) aka the DEATH OF DRACULA.

I like Count Yorga (1970) as well. I like when he kicks the bucket, funny stuff!

I still need to watch The Return Of Count Yorga (1971).

Also keep in mind Count Yorga is just a 'Vampire'.

Dominic Purcell, pictured below, played Dracula pretty good in Blade 3.

In the anime "Hellsing" Alucard later turned out to be a reincarnated Dracula, meaning he qualifies. In the anime Alucard is a hero. Hard to call this guy a hero though.
