Follwing Claws's box office flashbacks, I figured we could start a thread on Billboard flashbacks for any given set of time based on the date.  For example, today 25 years ago in 11986 this was your top 10:

1.) Addicted To Love - Robert Palmer
2.) West End Girls - Pet Shop Boys
3.) Kiss - Prince And The Revolution
4.) Why Can't This Be Love - Van Halen
5.) Harem Shuffle - The Rolling Stones
6.) What Have You Done For Me Lately  - Janet Jackson
7.) Greatest Love Of All - Whitney Houston
8.) Your Love - The Outfield
9.) Take Me Home - Phil Collins
10.) Manic Monday - The Bangels

Minus two or three songs, I actually dig that playlist.

Feel free to update the list for whatever year you want to feature but it has to be based on the week you posted

20 years ago today in 1991

1.) Baby Baby -Amy Grant
2.) Joyride - Roxette
3.) I Like The Way - Hi Five
4.) Here We Go - CC Music Factory
5) Touch Me - Cathy Dennis
6.) I Touch Myself - Divinyls
7.) Cry For Help - Ric Astley
8.) Rhythm Of My Heart - Rod Stewart
9.) You're In Love - Wilson Phillips
10.) I Don't Wanna Cry - Mariah Carey

I find it humerous two songs were about "touching", not to mention back to back.  I can't stand that song "Here We Go".  Its "Everybody Dance Now" remixed slightly.  I dig about two or three songs on there.  The two "touching" songs of course.

I remember hearing West End Girls and realizing that the whole New Wave thing from the early '80s had pretty much come to an end.  That was kind of sad.  Van Halen went from a hard rock band to a pop/rock band lol.  Manic Monday by The Bangles was a great song, and a great video too.  And then there was Whitney Houston on max rotation at every radio station until every guy in America hated that song.

It's sad how the later you go, the less interesting the records become.  (Such as DarkSider illustrated.)

30 years ago today:
1. SHEENA EASTON "Morning Train" (Never cared for it, but, it's a song!!)
2. GROVER WASHINGTON JR. / BILL WITHERS "Just The Two Of Us"  (One of my favorite records.)
3. SMOKEY ROBINSON "Being With You"
4. JUICE NEWTON "Angel Of The Morning"
5. HALL & OATES "Kiss Is On My List"
6. BLONDIE "Rapture" (One of my favorite records.)
7. KIM CARNES "Bette Davis Eyes" (I owned the 45.)
8. STEVE WINWOOD "While You See A Chance"
9. GINO VANNELLI "Living Inside Myself"
10. ERIC CLAPTON "I Can't Stand It"

I like all of those records (nearly) and really love 2 and 6.  Smile  Here's a damned early Pop record that raps.

You are young, my young apprentice...  Wink  Lookingup "Hotel California" is okay, really.  I get where it'd be worn out, like BEATLES "Michelle" or "Yesterday" are for me...

Oh cool list. I like all those tracks, even though Sade does my head in. We always seemed to have DeBarge playing in our house. Thumbup

Top ten for 1982, when I graduated from high school:

01. Physical » Olivia Newton-John
02. Eye Of The Tiger » Survivor
03. I Love Rock N' Roll » Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
04. Ebony And Ivory » Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder

08. Hurts So Good » John Cougar
09. Abracadabra » Steve Miller Band
10. Hard To Say I'm Sorry » Chicago

I've heard every one of those songs probably 50 times, and would happily listen to them another 50.  Not all in one day of course   TongueOut

11 - 20 was no slouch either:

11. Tainted Love » Soft Cell

For the year of 1978 when I was 7, these were the 10 best singles:
1.Shadow Dancing- Andy Gibb
2.Night Fever- Bee Gees (one of my favorite songs of all time)
3.You Light Up My Life- Debbie Boone
4.Stayin' Alive- Bee Gees
5.Kiss You All Over- Exile
6.How Deep Is Your Love- Bee Gees
7.Baby Come Back- Player
8.Love Is Thicker Than Water- Andy Gibb
9.Boogie Oogie Oogie- Taste Of Honey
10.Three Times A Lady- Commodores
Oh, and I like Darksider's "Harem Shuffle".  That would be interesting if it had a Middle Eastern/Egyptian theme, wouldn't it?
