I have never heard of this until today. From wikipedia:

The lying down game (also known as planking, or face downs) is an activity for men and lesbians, popular in Asia and Australia, consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body, and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the internet is an integral part of the game. Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play. The location should also be as public as possible, and as many people as possible should be involved.





Incredibly stupid but also kind of funny. What do you think?

This has caused a stir here because of all the death.  Yup, people are dying from extreme planking! Be warned! I'm sure planking while drunk on a balcony of a high rise apartment is a genius move...

What's funny, in a sad way, is the lady who died while defending planking and gave a demonstration on safe planking.



My question though is why men and lesbians only? Seems my straight friends who have done it mustn't have got the memo or have something they want to tell me...

So anyone going to post any photos?

I guess it depends on whether you identify as a man or not, since men of all ilk are allowed.  Maybe because we love long hard rigid things.

At my ripe old age it would be hard to out of the planking position especially if it were in an odd area such as the ones listed.
