In Phoenix we have the "snowbirds." These are residents of places like Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc., who take up temporary residence here during the cold months. My wife and I still own a 1 bedroom condo that we rent out. It's a bigtime snowbird complex. During the summer months the population is almost half what it is from October to March.

I don't mind it much, except when I hear them complain because it can actually turn chilly here once in a while. Sorry that it can't be in the 80's the entire six months you're here. So sorry.
