The Burgomaster

Here's a movie that has a few interesting scenes, but overall doesn't make much sense and is often dull.

A fascist government leaves the corpses of dead rebels lying in the streets.  It is illegal for anyone to move them.  A woman named Antigone (Britt Ekland) wants to bury her dead brother.  After she moves the body with the help of an anarchist, they are both arrested.  Ekland is interrogated and beaten by the military police.  The movie has odd music, too much imagery and symbolism, and a few naked people to make it appear "arty."  I have a widescreen version, in Italian with English subtitles.  Maybe I'll try watching it again in a few years, but I don't think my opinion will change much.

The whole movie is available on Youtube (without the subtitles), if you're interested.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."
