I've been checking out some of the blogs & reviews posted by various members here and wow, we've got some talented critics!  Cheers So I figured I should show y'all some of my deranged cinematic ramblings as well.

I've been posting at HubPages.com for a couple of months now, it's basically a site for frustrated wanna-be writers (i.e. people like me) to post articles about any old thing they feel like writin' about. My passions are metal music and movies, but lately I've been doing more stuff about movies (it's been a slow year for me with buying CDs.)

So anyway, I recently started a series of articles I call "IT CAME FROM THE BARGAIN BIN" in which I celebrate cheap movies and how cheaply I come across them. Please check'em out and feel free to comment. I hope you dig.

It Came From the Bargain Bin #1: "The Morgue" (2008) and "Legend of the Bog" (2007)

It Came From the Bargain Bin #2: "Friday the 13th" (2009)
http://fatfreddyscat.hubpages.com/hub/It-Came-From-the-Bargain-Bin-FRIDAY-THE-13th-2009

It Came From the Bargain Bin#3: "Maniac Cop" (1988)

It Came From the Bargain Bin #4: "City of the Walking Dead" (1980)
http://fatfreddyscat.hubpages.com/hub/It-Came-From-the-Bargain-Bin-CITY-OF-THE-WALKING-DEAD-1980

Hope you like'em. If you want to see some of my other non-movie related rambling, the link to my profile page is in my sig.

Cool, man. I plan on doing some more of those "Retro Metal Rants" in the future, just haven't decided on a deserving band/album yet. Appreciated!

This week's "IT CAME FROM THE BARGAIN BIN" takes on the powerhouse combo of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing in 1972's "Horror Express"

Totally agree with you on all points about the Ratt CD. It was a HUGE surprise at how good it sounded. Of all the 80s bands to come back with a new record, I would have expected Ratt's to be the worst. But no, hell no! I also thought they chose the wrong single (bad video too) and I thought the ballad was the weakest track. They should have gone totally balls out with the track-list and replaced it with "Scatter" which featured on the Japanese edition. I played Infestation to death when it came out and I'd have to say it ranks as one of their best releases, no question.

Right on brother! I was totally blown away at how good that record was, especially since I hadn't been much of a fan for about 20 years prior and therefore I had ZERO expectations for it before its release...

So I was bored at work today and listening to Iron Maiden's BRAVE NEW WORLD album... and I said to myself, "Self, this would be a good subject for a HubPages entry."

I have had zero time to watch films for the past week or so (I really need to get back into that groove) but in the meantime I've written two new non-movie Hubs if anyone's interested.

First is a "Retro Metal Review" about Sepultura's 1991 classic, ARISE:
http://fatfreddyscat.hubpages.com/hub/Random-Retro-Metal-Review-Sepultura-ARISE-Roadrunner-1991

The other is the story of my strange week in a rented car -- the oddly shaped but yet somehow endearing Nissan Cube.
http://fatfreddyscat.hubpages.com/hub/My-Nissan-Cube-Experience

More movie fun soon, folks, I promise.

Still haven't been watching any movies worth writing about (though October is coming up, that means lots of Halloween horror flicks, woohoo, so that will change soon!) ... but I did whip up another "Retro Metal Review" entry this week about the ever-controversial first album by Ice-T's Body Count.

Return with me now to 1992, when a rapper formed a heavy metal band and managed to p**s off the entire universe with one song!!

It's October and I'm planning a whole mess o' new "It Came From The Bargain Bin!" entries for the Halloween season... kicking things off with a review of the Marvel Comics creature feature "Man-Thing"

I'm in a movie reviewing mood! My second "It Came From the Bargain Bin" entry of the week is 1988's "China O'Brien" starring Cynthia Rothrock

I found it in a thrift store in my town this past weekend for a dollar (along with the original "Dirty Harry" -- woo hoo!), hadn't seen "China" before but I'd seen a few of Cynthia Rothrock's other flicks in years past so I figured it was worth risking a buck. It was pretty bad, but in a good kinda way. I've seen better but Lord knows I've seen lots worse....
