I'd like to think I'm well versed in the horror genre, but I'm quite sure there's lots I haven't seen or heard of. If anyone could help me out by naming some obscure horror (preferably on dvd) it'd be appreciated. I do love me some slashers, zombies and giallos, but I'm always open to other subgenres as well.

It's probably not that obscure compared to what most people on here class as obscure but Lizard In A Woman's Skin is a vey good giallo I thought...

What is obscure mean to you? 20 votes on imdb, or your friends haven't heard of it.

"Madhouse" is an old Vincent Price movie. I had never heard of it. It's really good, especially when use consider the fact that it's a "Hammer" style film made in 1974. It's hard to believe a movie like that would hold up that well at the dawn of the "Slasher" age.

Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl (2009). It is one of the weirdest, but fun movies I ever seen.

Demon under glass.

Great vampire movie, highly underrated.

Salvage is mediocre, but has a great twist ending that makes it all worthwhile.

If you're a fan of the 80s slasher types, The Fear is a pretty good one that's overlooked quite a bit.   he biggest flaw there is the rubber suit looks a bit too rubber at times and not enough like wood (as it's supposed to be.)

Zombie Honeymoon was also surprisingly entertaining, well acted, and not nearly as explotive as the title would suggest.  It's an interesting take on zombies movies in that the FIRST symptom of zombiedom is the cannibalism.  He guy still looks human.  he still has his normal personality.  he just can't help but hunger for human flesh.

On that note, Fangoria's I,Zombie is also a fairly good one and one of the few movies told from the point of view of a guy that's becoming a zombie.
