Figure I'd counter the other thread I started with a positive one.  Some creatures I like off the top of my head:

Cats - I like their "screw you" attitude.  Plus they're sadistic bastards who catch mice and play with them until they die.  That is just awesome to me.

Birds (most anyhow) - I have a bird feeder in the front of my house.  I find watching them to be peaceful.  I especially like chickadees who I've actually fed by hand in the past.   I used to always have a pet budgie growing up, they made wondeful and clever pets.

Wolverines - I like their style, not afraid of a damn thing.

Dogs - my favorite pet.

I can tolerate just about any animal: I had girlfriends who owned pythons (including one that was about 8 feet long), chinchillas, rabbits . . . didn't mind any of them.  But dogs are my favorite.

Cats - I do like them. My opinion of them is similar to Robert Deniro's Jack Burns character in the Focker movies.

Fish - I am fascinated with the water in general, with it's peacefullnes and power. And so, the creatures that live in water fascinate me. I have an aquarium at home. Put me in a large aquarium exhibit and I could spend hours.

Cats, dogs, birds and snakes.

Until last year we had two cats. One ran away and found a new home down the street. He visits us like every three months or so but refuses to stay.
The other was killed by a car exactly one year ago. Here's a video I made last year May. Miss you Spikey  Bluesad

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

« Reply #11 on: September 12, 2011, 05:30:58 PM »

As far as pets go, I'm a cat man all the way. If a cat wants to be around you, it'll come. If it doesn't, it won't. I respect that. Dogs are nature's cheerleaders: always too cheerful, full of pep and what people interpret as unconditional love. Whatever. I don't hate dogs, but they are not my favorite pet. Also, with cats, you basically have a wild animal that has agreed to live with you. They don't need you. If they stick around, it is because they like you.

Also, to me, tigers are among the coolest of animals. Also, monkeys and apes are fun to watch, if only from a distance so they can't fling poop at you.

Cats.  Too bad I'm allergic to them.

Cheetahs are cool.
