I was just kinda curious, everyone complains about 3-D causing headaches, eye pain, and other problems so I wanted to see how many people are effected (or is it affected?) by 3-D.

A.J.'s Vote: Sometimes. I watched most of Avatar but had to remove the glasses a few times during the film to rest my eyes.

It doesn't hurt my eyes.  I've watch several 3-D movies in the past and not once did my eyes ever hurt.  Now reading subtitles on the other hand...

No.  Proper 3-D does not hurt my eyes.  However, I have some DVDs where they tried to take a recent, color film and use the old green / red 3-D process and glasses and it just makes a blurry mess.  A couple that come to mind are COMIN AT YA! and FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3.  Both used polarized 3-D glasses for theatrical showings (which won't work on TVs), but some jerk decided it would be a good idea to convert them to red / green "blur-o-vision" for DVD.  These versions give me a headache.

I recently bought a 3-D TV and 3-D blu-ray player and so far the 3-D movies and TV broadcasts I have watched have all been fine.  ESPN 3-D has some nice sports broadcasts.  I've watched college football, the Harlem Globetrotters, boxing, and some extreme sports in 3-D and have had no problems with my eyes.  For blu-rays, I've watched a documentary on sea life, THE GREEN HORNET, RIO, TRON: LEGACY, and a NARNIA movie that came with the blu-ray player and none of them have bothered my eyes.  I plan to buy THOR on my way home from work today.

The red&blue "at home" glasses, or if the 3D was added after the fact and is therefore really poor (as in CLASH OF THE TITANS), it'll cause headaches, but if it's utilized properly it's no problem.  On the other hand it doesn't really add all that much entertainment value for me either.  I'd just as soon keep my extra $3

RealD doesn't bother my eyes, but the blue and red stuff gives me eye strain and a bit of a headache about 10 minutes in.

Doesn't cause me any pain but occasionally I feel like my eyes have trouble focusing on the image.

The old red/green bothers me at times.  Usually, I'm not a fan of 3D though.  It is more gimmicky to me.

To acknowledge those only bothered by specific R/G 3-D I've gone ahead and added a new option to the poll.

3D cinema doesn't bother my eyes at all but 3D TV does irritate them.

If there was " mostly, yes " choice, I'd have clicked it. The only time it didn't was with The Green Lantern and The Last Airbender.

I'm not much a 3D fan....as Couchtr26 stated I also think it's gimmicky. I can enjoy a movie without it just fine. Besides,I also have occassional focus trouble.

Those red and blue glasses suck! I tried to watch the 3-D version of "Friday the 13th part 3" and it gave me a headache, so I switched to the the 2-D version. I was too young to see it in 3-D at the movies, so at first I was excited about the disc having a 3-D feature, but like I said, headache. Still it's my second favorite "Friday the 13th."
