So, here's two AWESOME games you should check out, the Gretel and Hansel series. They're flash games based on the classic Grimm fairy tale. You control Gretel who finds out her mom (or is it stepmom?) wants the father to take you and her brother into the woods and leave you both there to die. You start the first game locked in your room, so you have to escape, explore the area, and gather up the items you'll need for your journey.
Part two takes place after the first where the siblings are now lost in the forest and you have to guide them to safetly.
The games are really amazing. They've got a stylish, waterpainting look to them, with really interesting puzzles and memoriable characters. It's NOT for everyone though, as I said earlier, the games are REALLY grim (like the source material) and many of the endings can be rather graphic for the poor player. Still, I recommend checking them out!
