Looks like cross between a sandworm from Dune, the Flesh Flower from The Thing, and an artichoke.

There is a post about that one somewhere. That thing looks legendary. I used to have a phobia of it because of it's really bizarre appearance.

If I'm not mistaken, the monster in Creature from the Haunted Sea was made to look silly for comic effect, since the film is a spoof after all.
