A film 30 years in the making, or, at least it's been almost 30 years, since we last saw Mad Max on the big screen, which is why I'll be there, when it opens in 2015. Especially, as I enjoyed the 1st 3 so much.

There are, though, a couple of things that give me pause.

(1st) Whoever it is that plays Mad Max. He's no Mel Gibson. And (2nd) I don't know whether the trailer actually tells me how good or bad the film will be.

A couple of more things.

(1st) If it looks like Australia, then it was filmed in Namibia. And (2nd) "Road Warrior" or "Mad Max II," as it was also known is regarded as being one of the few sequels that actually was better than the sequel. While I don't hold out hopes that this one will be as good as those 2 or even the 3rd in the series, I hope it is enjoyable enough that I don't waste my money seeing it.

The first thing I thought was odd was the appearance of the V8 Interceptor. It was piece together from parts in the first movie and destroyed in the second. So where does this movie fall in the time line?  Maybe this is a reboot of the series?  I really think the main issue this movie will have is too large of a budget.

As I understand it, this film takes place some time between the 1st and 2nd films, which may be why we see the V8 Interceptor. And I just noticed the error I made in my previous post. I mean to say that the sequel is considered to be one of the few sequels that is actually better than the original film. Not that the sequel was actually better than the sequel. Let us just put down my error to accidentally smelling Trevor's underwear. It temporarily fried my brain, but, I'm OK now!

While I doubt he'll be able to equal Mel Gibson (it's almost impossible to top an iconic character created by an iconic actor, I think), Tom Hardy is actually a pretty excellent actor.  I'd suggest Bronson if you want to see him act.  He's probably best known now as the man who played Bane in the Dark Knight Rises.

I thought this trailer looks pretty solid, and I'm definitely interested.  But still skeptical for a couple reasons - the big one is that the movie was shot in 2012, and STILL isn't out yet.  There were evidently extensive reshoots, and lots of problems in production.  Not a good sign.  I'm still hopeful though, as George Miller is still the director/writer, and evidently had pretty wide leeway in creation.  I hope it's great.

Lurkers (1988)

Easily the most horrid, infuriating movie I've ever seen. Directed by Roberta Findlay. Nuff said.
