I was watching this movie in a bar in Paris, and it was the weirdest movie I've ever seen on cable TV. Couldn't understand any of it because I think it was in French.

The setting was almost a cross between The Labrynth, Return to Oz, The Cell, and some kind of renaissance fettish porn.

The main character was this man with a receding hairline wearing white makeup and renaissance clothing. From what I could tell, a fat man in renaissance clothing was making him go around and to all these different women and have sex with them. I don't know at what point in the movie we started watching, but the first woman was wearing a very weird ass-less dress and a habit, very white makeup, and very red lipstick. She was devilish looking, almost like bondage nursery rhyme/alice in wonderland, but she smiled and giggled a lot. The man had to have sex with her in what seemed like a 5 minute long, very bizarre and repetitive scene, and then they had a very creepy, exasperating climax which ended in us thinking the man had actually died. He hadn't, and then he was forced to go have sex with the next woman, an older lady in renaissance clothing. Same deal, they proceeded to have sex in a very extended scene and the man looked like he was physically in pain, and then she had a creepy orgasm and they were done. Then we stopped watching the movie for a bit, but when we turned back the guy had been thrown in jail and then the bartender changed the channel.

Does anyone know this movie? It looked like it was from the 80s.

I should add, it wasn't graphic or anything, and there was very little nudity (just the one girl's butt). It was not porn.

Sounds like an adaptation of a de Sade novel. Perhaps BEYOND LOVE AND EVIL?

It looks very veeery close but alas it's not it :( the most important detail I remember is that the character had a very prominent receding hairline but otherwise frizzy long light-brownish/blondish hair. Thanks so much for the reply!
