Hi.  Been watching a lot of anime lately, and I remembered one from long ago I couldn't find a title for.

It starts out with 2 huge space fleets facing each other - can't remember if it was in deep space or near a planet - and they open fire on each other - many needle thin red? laser shots as both fleets commit all their ships.

Then I get fuzzy, but I do remember a scouting party - from both fleets?  with personal armor I believe - end up fighting on the surface.  Pretty sure one fleet turns out to be males, the other females.

The end comes out like an Adam and Eve finish - the fleets decimate each other, and there's only 1 left from each group on the  surface.

The first scene reminds me of a Macross opening scene - but I don't see a Macross that seems to match the entire story.  The ending, strangely, reminds me of an old Twilight Zone Adam and Eve story.  But this was definitely an anime.

Can't even remember if it was any good, but it's bugging me.

You guys came up with the last one I was looking for instantly; I leave this in your hands.

This sounds a lot like "Gall Force:  Eternal Story"  (1986).

It has been a long time since I last watched this movie, but I do have some bullets for you.  The scene with the two fleets is in there.  One fleet looks like human females, the other I cannot remember - but the enemy fleet sends a weird creature aboard a ship of the females.  In some way (I remember this being "Alien"-like) it infects one of the women and a human boy is the eventual result (vice a creature).  There is a planet involved in the story, perhaps as a place for the women to repair their ship.

At the end, two fleets (this time I believe both are from the female species) destroy each other and only a young woman and the newly created boy are left alive on the planet.

I think you're right actually, but of course, Netflix doesn't have the first movie available, just the second and third.

I thought it wouldn't be possible to even have a second or third the way the first ended, but I'll try to find the first one to confirm it.

Thanks all!
