It's the place to go here if you like the beach and sand, with no commercial developments around. There is an ocean side with dunes, a good stretch of beach, and waves. We often see porpoises while there. At the north end of the park there is a sheltered bay with a lighthouse. The little bay is shallow quite a ways out, and the kids like to go searching for live animals in the water and empty shells to collect. When there, we're often between 1 and .5 kilometers from where the turtle made her nest.
Yes, the eggs hatched in December. I hope that some of the baby turtles make it to adulthood after being driven South to NC and released.
