The scene in the Wizard of Oz where the Wicked Witch of the West first shows up. Scared the crap out out of me when I first saw it as a kid. Actually, I still instinctively jump whenever I see it today.

The final segment in Trilogy of Terror, especially at the end when she's squatting  with the messed up face and holding the knife waiting for her mother to come over (if I'm remembering right that is).  Very scary stuff to see on tv at that time.

The final battle between Ahnuld and the Predator. When the alien removed its mask and roared at the camera, I remember running out of the room screaming in terror. Ironically, that movie is now one of my favorites.

I don't think people who weren't around for the 80s can really understand the impact that scene had back then.  Unmasking the monster scenes were pretty old hat but I don't think any other horror movie of the time (except maybe Friday the 13th Part 7) had a monster that was worth the buildup.  The Predator was worth it.  It looked completely alien and so real!  Then it beat up Arnold Schwarzenegger!!!  Back in 1987, that was roughly equivalent to someone being able to beat up God.  To an eight-year-old kid, especially, the Predator was one scary mofo.

The part at the end of Gremlins when the Dad says, "You might have a Gremlin in your house."  The movie had terrified the crap out of me as it was but that just pushed it straight over the edge.  I actually started screaming, "NO!  NOOOOO!" and Mom and Dad had to take me out of the theater.  I made poor Dad thoroughly check the house before I'd go to bed for at least a week.
Haha, that sounds like me during the Star Wars cantina scene when I was 4.
