The FDA is trying to shut down a DIY sperm donor.

QuoteA California man is vowing to continue his do-it-yourself sperm donor operation, despite efforts of federal health officials to crack down on the free service.

Trent C. Arsenault, 36, of Fremont, Calif., told msnbc.com that he has fathered 14 children -- with four more on the way -- and donated sperm to between 60 and 75 families since he started the online operation in 2006.

"Every time I log into Facebook, I'm overwhelmed with all the pictures from the families," said Arsenault, who regards his donations as a way to help low-income people struggling with infertility.

Last year, federal Food and Drug Administration officials delivered a letter ordering Arsenault to "cease manufacturing," or halt his service, because the computer security expert had not followed regulations governing safety precautions for transmission of human cells or tissues through donor clinics.

Cease manufacturing???
God of making the characteristic which becomes dirty sends the hurricane.

If he keeps it up the FDA may have to seize his palm.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

When I think of a "DIY sperm donor" operation I'm picturing a different kind of operation.
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org

Oh come off it, that is a silly story.

I'll say one thing. It takes balls to do what this guy is doing.

That's the bare minimum. Will this turn into a World Wide Punominon?

If the guy is clean then why would the FDA care about it?
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

I can think of several, but seriously, shouldn't selling someone's sperm be documented by the government? Even though the current system still has it happen, it would probably be even easier for someone to hook up with a half-sibling and not know it.

He's got spunk, that's for sure.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

I will admit, there is a vas deferens between a real sperm bank and what this guy is doing.

Hmmm....I hadn't thought of that. Good point.
