Michael Sarrazin, Actor, Dies at 70

SARRAZIN
died in April, but I didn't know it until I saw this year's TCM Remembers for all of the movie industry personnel who passed away in 2011.
Good night MICHAEL

That is a shame. I was honestly thinking about him the other day. The thing I remember is he was...pretty. Almost feminine features, very fine and well defined. He just seemed to suddenly stop making movies.

So long, Michael. May your Frankenstein monster never die.

He was pretty, Java.  He had a waif-like look that made his Frankenstein's monster so very touching.  Sympathetic and sad.   Bluesad

Not many seem to remember this guy.

Too true.  To jog memories:

He had a creditable career with such highlights as
1969 They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
1969 Eye of the Cat
1972 The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean
1972 The Groundstar Conspiracy
1973 Frankenstein: The True Story (TV movie)
1975 The Reincarnation of Peter Proud
1985 Joshua Then and Now

... he was not considered 'leading man' material after the 70's, so he was not so much in the forefront.  His choice of roles may have contributed to relative obscurity as well.

...but he appeared fairly steadily over the years on a number of reasonably respectable TV series:
Wojeck
Mascara
Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Malarek
Street Legal
Murder, She Wrote
Counterstrike
The Ray Bradbury Theater
Kung Fu: The Legend Continues
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Poltergeist: The Legacy
The Outer Limits
Nikita
Earth Final Conflict
FeardotCom

I think he was one of those actors who fade into the role.  His looks were striking as a young man, but he was not the sort to provoke the "Oh look, it's Michael Sarrazin!" response; rather he excelled at providing solid contributions to the whole.  Very 'Canadian' of him.   Wink  And perhaps (it could be argued) the mark of a talented actor.

Don't forget Sometimes a Great Notion which used that prettiness very well.
