Bob (Robert) Anderson passed January 1st at the age of 89.  He worked on the light saber fights in most of the Star Wars films and on the sword fighting in The Legend of Zorro (2005), Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Die Another Day (2002),The Mask of Zorro (1998), The Phantom (1996), First Knight (1995), The Three Musketeers (1993), Highlander (1986), The Pricess Bride(1987),  and the Highlander TV series, as well as on stunts for Casino Royale (1967), From Russia with Love (1963) and The Guns of Navarone(1961).   There has to be a form of immortality in that.  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0026428/

Thank you Mr. Anderson for the enjoyment your skills gave us.

The immortality comes from some of the legendary sequences you've mentioned, Newt. That certain scene from The Princess Bride, while silly, has got to be one of the greatest swordfight scenes in any movie, ever.

A sad day for those of us who enjoy swordplay in movies.
