We had blizzard like conditions earlier today. Didn't last too long though...more snow to shovel tomorrow.

Weather didn't change much here. For the past two weeks its been freezing/frost in the morning, and about 50 F during the day. Sometimes overcast, sometimes bright and sunny, sometimes rain.

Just when you think it's over. It's not. After two weeks of spring like temperatures, we had a cold front come through on Sunday and ice everything down.

The bad news is that there has already been one traffic fatality due to the storm.

The good news, if there is any good news, the storm happened on Sunday, so most people did not have to get out and go to work.

It also proves how hard it is to predict the weather where I live. The headline on the local daily was that the ice may last till Tuesday. Yeah, right. Unless we get some more, the storm was over by Sunday evening, and most of the ice had melted by noon on Monday.

Spent over an hour shovelling out today. We're getting hit with a cold front now though so no snow for a while but wind chill will be in the -30s.

February retrospect: too dry (30% less precipitation), too sunny (21% above the average) and unusual mild. Average temps (4.3 C) where 3.9 C higher than the norm, which is a record of some sorts. Basically we had no snow in February, which again is very unusual. Warmest day was February 15th with amazing 66 F.

Well it's kind of sort of working its way towards spring here.  Which means freezing drizzle is predicted for tonight, with AM rain / ice tomorrow.  Yippee.  Supposed to be up in the 40's by Sunday and Monday.  Which means a bunch of snow will melt during the day and then freeze overnight.  I should probably pick up a few more bags of salt today.

Strange weather for Pretoria in March: cold, cloudy and misty in the mornings, hot in the afternoon plus rain.  Question

We're still in somewhat of a deep freeze here (up from -30s to -20s wind chill today). Supposed to warm up this weekend and of course bring with it even more snow...

It's supposedly rain-free this coming week.. I can paint the fence if so.  For now, I'm painting the attic.
