I love that Zaat is going to be on Blu-ray before a ton of classic movies are.

There are a lot of movies, good and bad, that I'd like to see DVD/Bluray releases for.  It's just fun that "ZAAT" was released on the high-definition format.  That's my hand holding it.  Watched it, and while the movie is not pristine (no restoration, so there are blemishes here and there) the quality of the transfer is very good.

This week Legend Films released both LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS and PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE on Blu-ray.  I'm not sure either of these movies really benefit from being seen in hi-definition. But it is cool, I guess.

I love old bad movies with all their lumps and bumps.  I think I started watching this on TCM one wee hour morning and fell asleep... didn't they air it?
I picked this up, but haven't looked at it yet:

ZAAT! i do believe that was also known as the BLOOD WATERS OF DR.Z.

I think I know why it came out on blue-ray before some so-called classics....
Cuz it's more fun to get drunk and watch garbage. Who wants to have a party and watch a slow moving drama? It will make MONEY. Kids will buy it.

In this case, I'll guess that MST3K made the movie famous beyond its normal audience.  Plus, it is so weird but sincerely trying to be serious that it is entertaining for the first fifty or sixty minutes.  Then there is that dreadful empty stretch that lasts nearly half of an hour.  That part is sure to kill the buzz (or put to sleep) anyone who has been enjoying the film and their drink.

For me, this comes under the heading 'Watch only with Mike/Joel and robots.' With many flicks, riffing is the only way to go.
