Definitely not a bad movie... it's in the Criterion Collection.  but bad movie fans should enjoy it.

Oh come on, yes it is!  It's ridiculous, pointless and arbitrary.. and absolutely hilarious!  Bad, as in, bad-good!  Thumbup

Well, at least we both like the movie and this is just one of those "bad" vs. "good-bad" arguments we sometimes have on this board.  Since the point of HOUSE being deliberately ridiculous and arbitrary is so that it can be hilarious, I'd say it's more along the lines of something like MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL than the other movies in this thread. In a way it doesn't fit in, but in another way it does.

Here's one I hope we can all agree is unquestionably "bad":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIKU9hzRq6k

I don't really remember what definition (if there was one) of "bad" may have been stated by the thread originator.  I just felt the director didn't quite expect people to treat the film as ridiculous camp classic material that they did (maybe I'm wrong).  But it was such busy nonsense I felt it was entertainingly silly.  Given that the film was made back in the 70s I would surmise they were somewhat serious.  My sis and I saw it as part of an international film festival, and we both fell over laughing.  A few people laughed, but not nearly like we did. :)  Glad we can agree it is enjoyable.

Oh, and I can definitely agree on Manitou.  How can that plot succeed?  Question

Nurse Sherri.. I remember the VHS box was HOSPITAL OF TERROR, and showed severed body parts on the cover with the nurse's face glaring at the reader.  So much better than the movie.. but at least the occult professor's acting at the beginning had me falling over with laughter.  The Corpse Grinders.. I think I might have fallen asleep partway through it.
More seventies cinematic stinkers..

Well, Billy DID want to be a woman in Soap..

Man, this sucked.. I knew it would suck but not as much as it did..

THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE
I watched this last week; I'd seen it before, and remembered it fondly.  I'm certain that's MICHAEL GOUGH doing the ghost-voice and making that brief appearance at the end, but I didn't see him credited.  How many movies can claim that their ghost is so horrific because... he was short...?  This movie is terrible!!!

Octaman (1971) Is the obviously low budget, B-Grade horror/sci-fi flick. With the Cliche group off scientists Who go "how can it be" when sent on a science mission with Vague details and instructions. Or whatever... And part off the group is that one Science chick who gets carried by the monster at times. If you look close enough you may be able to see the zipper on the monster costume. Or maybe a bored stage hand by mistake walking on set. :)

Horror High (1974)

This actually leads me to realize I don't watch many 70's films or I just don't recognize them as from the 70's when I do watch them.

That was Michael Gough. Read the Richard Matheson novel; much better.
