I was in Walmart yesterday and in the Health & Beauty Dept. they had a display of something called Dream Water.  It's some kind of sleep aid.  You can check that out.   Smile

Tylenol PM contains diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, which is what makes you sleepy. Basically the same thing as the Benadryl I recommended above. Unless you have pain that's making it hard for you to sleep there's no reason to take the extra painkiller in Tylenol, so just look for any antihistamine in a liquid preparation.

We keep some liquid melatonin around for my daughter, and it seems to work. I don't normally need anything, but I will occasionally take some melatonin, sometimes with a couple of Chlor-Tripolon for good measure. Gotta love those first-generation antihistamines.

Wouldn't really know.

Only things I know of that put me to sleep are NyQuil and Xanax, the anxiety medication.

But I'm not a doctor, so couldn't help.

For some, alcohol screws up their sleep, I am one of those. I read somewhere that getting your body temperature to drop fairly rapidly helps, and it sure does for me. I take a hot shower long enough to get nice an warm, and when I get out and get into bed my body temp goes down and I sleep rather well. You don't have to get your body temperature to drop below normal, just it lowering from whatever to whatever seems to do it.

My advice would be to try every environmental/habitual remedy before you turn to medicine, medicines can have ill effects and some seem to make long term changes/side effects. I took Unisom once a few years ago. I slept well, but the next day I had the shortest fuse ever, and my sleep was screwed up for weeks. Although watching TV seems to help, In the long run many times it doesn't, and actually hurts.

I personally would avoid anything with Tylenol unless you actually need it for pain that simple aspirin doesn't help, Tylenol is not good for your liver.

Best to avoid meds for sleep, long-term.  Possible to end up with two problems instead of one.
