Teacher Fired After Not Noticing Third Graders Having Oral Sex Under Desk

TALLULAH, La. (CBS Houston) – A teacher at Tallulah Elementary School lost her job after not noticing two third graders participating in oral sex under their desks.

The News-Star is reporting that the teacher was fired for not keeping a proper eye on her students, as the incident occurred under her watch.

“The principal felt that she was not monitoring the classroom adequately,” District Superintendent Lisa Wilmore said to the News-Star. “The principal made a decision, and I supported the principal.”

She added, “We have to make sure we have people in these classrooms who are monitoring our students.”

Both students reportedly received counseling after the incident, which happened last week.

Aw, c'mon, people! They were just doing what their "counselors" told them to do, I'm sure.

While I agree the teacher is at fault for not noticing something like this, but I place the blame on the kids.  Pardon my french, but what the f**k is up with that s**t?!  The article says the kids got counseling after that, but imply nothing else happened them.  Hell no.  Throw them out of the school.  No way can they be allowed back after that incident.  Also, where the f**K did they learn to do that?!  I demand someone to investigate both of the kids' home right now!  This is unbelievable.  What has happened to our world?!

I don't know. What HAS happened to our world? It's unacceptable, sure, but they're kids. I was doing some inappropriate stuff while chasing girls around the playground when I was in the fourth grade. That was 34 years ago. We can't assume what's going on at home. Something has to be done, sure, but what? I'm not sure.

It might be worth noting sexual activity amongst children is not new.  It's pretty much always gone on to some degree or another.  Some infants masturbate, for example.

Most just don't want to think or talk about it.

Of course, not trying to suggest sexual activity should be tolerated in school.  I'm not sure what I'm saying.  It's a tough subject, and I don't really know what to say about it.
