What was said about Bush by our beloved  artists  from Sprinsteen to  an actual assassination  film, I have no problem with  his comments.

Maybe this is the answer, a link right from the article you had linked:

And before anybody pees themselves, I am not a liberal nor a Democrat. Invariably when I make posts expressing my views, because of the slightly right-leaning tendency of many of my bad movie neighbors, I get debated against as if I am representing such an agenda or posture. You can do that if you like, but you would be highly mistaken.
My world.  Welcome to it.

Been here a while. I thought you looked familiar.  Cheers

Yes, You will find links on communist web sites to fascists, doesn't mean they are accurate. You know what they say, what goes  around  comes around, what  was  said about Bush and supporters of that President is now coming home to roost . The Left had better tone it down.

Well, I  have been many things from an Anarchist, Socialist to Republican.  The experiences  I have had and I live in one of the media capitals of the world is that  the press gives a  pass to violent  rhetoric anfd actual violence of groups  and people  they agree with and often the case  is the pass is given to the Left.  The Left in my opinion are the most  violent rhetorical and in reality  group, second only to Muslim fanatics. Yet, all I hear is  how evil and dangerous  FOX  News is and five guys on radio.

Oh, please. I have plenty of personal experiences with different political groups myself, but neither of our personal experiences bear much weight in the argument with anyone but ourselves. There are violent, extrememist, wacko groups in the left, to be more than sure, but so there are on the right, and Ted Nuget proudly represents them.

What I'm saying is that the media is the media, and the talking-head are what they are. The extremist groups each have their corrolary, and in the grand scheme of things, is there really a sizeable difference between them? After years of contemplation, I've come to the conclusion that the further left and the further right one goes, the more one begins to resemble the other.

Why is it that Sean Hannity can condemn the joke by Christopher Titus, but defend the rhetoric of Ted Nugent? Plain old partisan double-standards, that's how. And I'm not just trying to single out the right here. They're on the left too, and I despise that equally. Unfortunately, the left tend to be funnier.

The novelty song writer? He's got his moments, "Everything is Beautiful" being chief among them, but we're digressing.

The personal experience I am including is of relatives killed by Stalin and Hitler, not just living in lefty-media capital. Although, I was not present, they do have a bearing and serious one in my views.

I don’t speak for Sean Hannity, don’t have cable anymore, and don’t know if he defended Nugents comments. But, I do know I’ll run into many more on the right who condemn fascists than lefties who ever condemn communists.

IMO, There is  only one-standard, run by a  media  that is out of control like rabid dogs, they are decidedly from left-leaning to far-left, from University  to the internet. I don’t find them very funny. I view them, increasingly, as I get older, as they view people like me, the enemy.

I see. Well, without saying so outright you are offering a pretty typical cultural Marxism argument. The problem I have with the cultural Marxism position is that it is such an easy scapegoat route to take. I've had these debates before, and they never go anywhere. I can only identify myself in your mind as one of the enemy because I am not in 100% agreement with you. I'm sorry if you feel I have pidgeon-holed you, but I can't really see any other alternative. I think the best practice is simply to avoid any interactions with you of a social or political nature. But since it is a bad movie site, that leaves us plenty of alternatives in that regard.

Let the games begin! YEEEEEEHAAAAAW!

Comedian Christopher Titus made a joke about Sarah Palin once that if she ever got elected he would hide on a grassy knoll. Not a great joke, but it got a few laughs and then he moved on to the next joke.

Commentators like Bill O'Reilly and Hannity made a big deal about it, naturally, saying he threatened her life and so on. Then, of course, Ted Nugent making a blatant threat and actually encouraging murder is naturally defended by the same people.

It seems double-standards are everywhere.

I think Ted Nugent is pinhead and I've never cared much for his music, but he is a celebrity and he encouraged killing the President, so if anybody does do anything about it, which will probably never happen, it makes for a nice vacuous three-ring circus of talking-head nonsense.

But honestly, can anybody really be shocked if somebody gets heat for threatening or encouraging the murder of the President? This is just very, very silly.

To be honest I am in no way advocating murdering the President.....just getting him and his gang out of Washington. Not by any sort of violence but by exercising our rights as a voter and by making sure folks know  what's up. Of course,we probably will never know what's really going on..... Wink

That's exactly what Ted Nugent said. I guess that's what bothers me about this story. I don't understand how anyone could interpret the words "chop their heads off in November" as call to literal violence. That Yahoo reporter managed to get a lot of mileage out of nothing at all.

I don't really disagree with you. However, it doesn't appear that you have eliminated much hate by shifting to the right. My problem with the cultural Marxism argument, and with the traditional left/right political spectrum in general, is that is doesn't really reflect life. It's a paranoid conspiracy fantasy. The further one goes left or right the more one resembles the other. The extreme left is communism and the extreme right is fascism. How different are the two, really?
