Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

« on: July 05, 2012, 10:33:21 PM »

I just watched Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on Netflix. I saw it in the theater ages ago and enjoyed it overall. Upon rewatching, I have to fully admit it's a pretty awful movie. I remember reading that George Burns narrates the film because no one could deliver a line to save their lives, and I believe it. They aren't even convincing with Burns' voice dubbed over theirs. The biggest disappointment of the movie, however, was Alice Cooper's performance. I know the man can sing, but in this movie, he was apparently trying to play a character that couldn't sing and gave a performance that, even by this movie's standard, was sub-par. There are a lot of problems with this movie, in the plot, in the acting, in the sets, in the idea to make the movie in the first place, etc. However, I must admit that I still somehow have a soft spot for it and found myself enjoying it, at least to a degree. Anyone else have any thoughts on this movie?

For sure....I have never liked this film at all. As a huge Beatles fan I found it a pretty cheap exploitation of their work.

I saw this movie years 'n' years ago and it must've been pretty traumatic cuz I have apparently blocked most of the movie from my memory, the only thing I remember clearly is Aerosmith's performance of "Come Together,"

Yeah, that is the only good cover in the movie. Earth, Wind and Fire doesn't do too bad, but Aerosmith is definitely better. I like their version better than the original. I can't say that about any other performance in the movie.

On a side note, Netflix's first suggestion for a movie to watch after this one? Heartbeeps, one of the most painful of bad movies ever devised.
